Obituary
It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Dea. Adolphus Heath who entered into rest December 5, 2022.
Adolphus Heath was born December 17, 1930 in Omaha, Texas to Sylvester T. Heath and Mary Jane Everett Heath. He was the youngest of twelve siblings all of whom have preceded him in death.
As a young man, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA and found employment with various employers and ultimately with Northrup Gruman, where he worked until his retirement in 1988. Adolphus also met and married his first wife, Doris Jean Parker. Their union resulted in the birth of his two daughters, one of which (JoAnn Heath) preceded him in death in 2018.
In 1982, while attending a Christian education conference in Milwaukee, WI, he met his soon to be wife, Bernice V. Heath. They married in 1983 and resided in Compton, CA until relocating to Lugoff, SC in 1990. They were married until her death in 2018. While in Lugoff, he and his wife joined their fellowship with Bethlehem Baptist Church. Adolphus was a faithful and dedicated member. He served as BTU Director, Sunday school, bible study and VBS teacher and was awarded Deacon Emeritus for his service to the Deacon Ministry. He also actively participated with the Brotherhood Ministry. Deacon Heath was often approached by the membership for his wisdom and knowledge of the Word of God.
Adolphus loved to spend time outdoors. Neighbors often waved at him on his daily walks. He would also spend countless hours manicuring his lawn or working in his vegetable garden. When not in the yard, he and his wife would travel the country from end to end!
He leaves to mourn his memories, four children, Cora Mae Adolphus, L’Tanya Roach (Robert), Terri Butts (Edward) and Christopher Tolliver. His legacy continues on through his 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Adolphus also leaves to mourn many loving relatives and special lifelong friends.
