Obituary of Diane Lynn Barks

ELGIN – Funeral service for Diane Lynn Partee Barks, 62, will be held at 9am on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local VFW.

Mrs. Barks passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  Born in East St. Louis, IL, she was the daughter of Richard Goersh and Janet Frazier Goersh. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary 11079 and spent a lot of time there. Diane had many friends, enjoyed gardening, watching cop shows, and taking care of her family.

Surviving is her husband, William Charles Barks; children, Mindy Barks and Jamie Engles; grandchildren, Trenton Murphy (Kendra), Shaila Hudson (Andrew), Valeri Talbott (Dakota), Jeese Warren, Jaxson Murphy, Violet Hudson, Odinn Talbott, and Dallas Talbott; sister, Lori Rhodes.
