Obituary of Ellen Elizabeth Channer
Ellen Elizabeth Floyd Channer, 91, of Camden, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Born in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Ervin Floyd, Jr. and Lizzie Belle Rogers Floyd, and the wife of the late Rev. Cecil Marvin Channer. Ellen was a member of Lakeshore Drive Church of God in Camden. Ellen had a passion for serving others and enjoyed volunteering at church, especially in the Women’s Ministry. Raised on a farm, she loved working outside and tending to her garden while she was able. Ellen also enjoyed reading and learning, so much so that, in 1990, she went back to school at Trident Technical College in North Charleston and received her certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Ellen is survived by her children, Deborah Eaddy and Ron Channer (Karen); grandchildren, Donna Gallahorn (Robert), Donald Eaddy, II, Deanna Fulmer (Glenn), Dinah Hanna (Jason), Carolyn Leckie (Jimmy), and Ashley McBroom (Randy); great-grandchildren, Kiree Ramey (Michael), Sarah Gallahorn, Jacob Gallahorn, Kristen Eaddy, Stacy Eaddy, Justin Eaddy (Becca), Philip Protheroe, Jenna Leckie, Channer Leckie, Raley McBroom, Jamie McBroom, and Ricky McBroom; as well as seven great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Ann Floyd Wilson of Monroe, MI.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her siblings, Calvin Floyd, Neil Floyd, and Agnes Floyd Crowder.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the Fellowship Hall at Lakeshore Drive Church of God, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Lakeshore Drive Church of God Building Fund, 1201 Lakeshore Drive, Camden, SC 29020.
