Funeral services for Lawton James Truesdale, 76, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.  Burial at Quaker Cemetery will follow.  Rev. Danny Hedgepath and Rev. Eugene Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.  Memorials may be made to Food for the Soul, 110A E. James passed away on August 5, 2023.  He was born Camden, SC, the son of the late Lawton Melvin Truesdale and Virginia Shiver Truesdale.  James was a member of the National Guard and the Camden Masonic Lodge #29; a member of the Historic Camden Shag club, and also a shriner.  James enjoyed fishing, traveling, and bird-watching.

James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Horton Truesdale; son, Michael Truesdale (Mandy), of Camden; daughter, Jennifer Rickard (Steve), of Columbia; granddaughter, Emily Truesdale (Chris); sister, Iva Baker (Robert), of Camden, and sister-in-law, Danielle Truesdale, of Camden.

James was predeceased by brothers, Ronger Truesdale and Jody Truesdale.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
