Betty Raines Ballentine, 72, of Blythewood, passed away on Wednesday August 15, 2023. Born in Columbia SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Raines, Jr and Lula Marie Taylor Raines Young Farlow. Betty was a devoted wife to her husband George for over 55 years of marriage. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and drawing. Betty cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and granny who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her two sons, George (Wanda) and Samuel (Shaunee); her daughter-in-love April (James); her granddaughter, Samantha (Wesley); and her grandson, Zachary; her siblings, Helen, Albert, and Bill; along with countless other family and friends who became family over the years. She was predeceased by her brother, Randy.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
