Shirley Ann Massey was born on June 8,1944, in Camden, South Carolina, to the late Louis and Carrie Bell Schofield. Shirley was the second of six children of that union. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
She received her education from the Kershaw County Schools. Shirley was employed with Skyline Factory until her health declined. She loved The Kirkwood Community and they loved and respected her. Shirley was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She took great care of her family and all those around her. She loved to cook and would always ask “What you gone cook” “What you gone eat”. Pancakes and Fried Chicken was her favorite to cook and most requested.
She was married to the late Minnor Norris Massey and to this union three children was born.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents Louis and Carrire Bell Schofield, her husband Minnor Massey and two brothers, Thomas “Jake” Schofield, and James Schofield.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Clifton (Priscilla) Massey of Ellenwood, GA, Denise Massey of Camden, SC and Ricardo (Tynette) Massey of Randallstown, MD; a special niece raised in the home; Tonia Schofield of Jonesboro, GA; two stepchildren, Janese and Miranda Engram both of Camden, SC; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Christopher, Jalen, Juwan, Dominic, Justin, Danielle, Darius and Kini; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Roberta Schofield, Helen Schofield, Margie Clark, and Virginia (James) Belton all of Camden, SC; one sister-in-law, Barbara Woods of Lugoff, SC; a brother-in-law, Ronald Cooke of Camden, SC and two special cousins, Etta Williams and Francis Hill. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory.
