Obituary of Loretta Mae Baldwin

Loretta Mae Baldwin, 87, of Elgin, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wood County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Orland W. Curfman and Olive R. Curfman and the wife of 56 years to Charles Allen Baldwin. Loretta enjoyed fellowship with her church family and attended services at Christ Temple in West Virginia and the Elgin Church of God. She enjoyed camping at the beach and loved animals and flowers. Above all, Loretta cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Baldwin is survived by her children, Portia Lynn Kyle (Gregory) of Elgin, Pam Bailey (John) of Elgin, and Lloyd Baldwin (Teresa) of Proctorville, OH; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sharon Casto (Don) of Marietta, OH.  

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her children, Terry J. Rhodes, Lawrence G. Rhodes Jr., and Larry E. Rhodes; and her sister, Shelva J. Curfman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1:30pm. Burial will follow the service in Quaker Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thiel-Meyer Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020.
