Obituary of Eric Michael Gardiner

ELGIN- A celebration of life service for Eric Michael Gardiner, 28, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family request that you wear N.Y. Yankee gear, or your favorite sports team’s gear. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to March of Dimes.

    Eric passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Born in Norwood, MA, he was a son of Michael Gardiner and Julie Girton Washer. Eric was an avid sports fan, his favorite team was the N.Y. Yankees. He also was a fan of the Phillies, Green Bay Packers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Penn St. Nittany Lions. Above all, Eric was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, Nicole, and daughter, Crystal.

    Surviving are his wife, Nicole Gardiner; daughter, Crystal; mother, Julie Washer (Jim); father, Michael Gardiner (Melinda); siblings, Matthew James Barrett (Melinda), Michael Barrett, Christopher Washer, Jessica Bregier, David Stickel; and paternal grandmother, Mabel Gardiner. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Don “Toad” Gardiner; and maternal grandparents, JoAnne and Ronald Girton.
