Obituary of Bobby M. Davis

BISHOPVILLE – A private family graveside service for Bobby Melton Davis, 85, will be held in Piedmont Cemetery.  The Rev. Scott Hodge will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Davis passed away at home on Thursday, February 29, 2024.  Born in Bishopville, he was the son of the late Bingham and Earlene Brown Davis.  He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont.  He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and Scott Chewning of Bishopville; and brothers, Bingham “Bud” Davis Jr. and Francis Davis.  He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Thomas.
