Valerie Caldwell Obituary

Valerie Romaine Caldwell was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Carolyn Fulson and the late William Fulson. She departed this life on March 13, 2024. 
  
Valerie was the youngest of two children. She dedicated over 30 years of service to the Chief of Detectives Bureau for NYPD. After residing in NY her entire life, she decided to leave her beloved hometown of Brooklyn, to retire, move to South Carolina and be with her family.  She was extremely poised and the pure definition of elegance. Everything she did was with grace and style. No matter where she went, she would be “sharp as a tack” (as she would say).  She knew how to command a room and heads would always turn no matter where she went.
 
She was beloved by her lifelong friends and amongst her neighbors in her community, whom she always greeted with a big smile and loved to have conversations with. They would always count on seeing her around the neighborhood as she walked her prize possession, her puppy Blue Blue, who was later joined by her Jack Jack. Most importantly, Valerie deeply loved her family and would never hesitate to do anything for them. All of the wonderful memories she shared with us during her life, will forever remain near and dear to our hearts. She will be missed tremendously and loved forever and always. 
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Caldwell.
   
Those that are left to cherish her memories and celebrate her wonderful life are her mother, Carolyn Fulson; her only daughter, La-Kema Caldwell; four grandchildren, Tiana Farris (Jerel), Taj Blakney, Brielle Blakney, Brendon Blakney; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Farris and Denver Farris; her sister, Stephanie Fulson; four nephews, Rasjhoun Fulson, Robvoun Fulson, Kyi Fulson, and Cire Fulson; her aunt ,Diane Richardson; her puppies Blue Caldwell and Jax Caldwell. Along with her extended family that she loved and cherished, a host of relatives and many lifelong friends.
