Obituary of Barbie King

COLUMBIA – A service to celebrate the life of Barbara Ann Hopple “Barbie” King, 56, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  The Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. King passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.  Born in Fort Jackson, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Craig Hopple and Irmaguard Krepper Hopple. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, cooking gardening and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Dwight Dale King; son, Kody McKinley King of Columbia; brother, Glenn Hopple of Lugoff; nieces, Elizabeth Hopple Barrett (John) of Elgin and Amber Kirkland of Columbia; nephew, Benjamin Kirkland (Valerie) of Chapin, SC.  She was predeceased by sister, Deborah Kirkland; and brother, Neal Hopple.
