Boys Athlete of Week Nominees
Thatcher Baughman, Ben Lippen baseball: Senior pitched a complete game, striking out nine against Trinity Collegiate. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Charlie Bonds, Richard Winn baseball: Junior infielder was 4-for-6 with two homers and five RBI.
Jayden Boyd, Fairfield Central track and field: Sophomore won the 100 and 300 at Ridge View’s Blazer Twilight.
Jacob Clark, Mid-Carolina baseball: Senior pitched a complete-game, one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in 3-0 win over Newberry.
Chase Cline, Chapin golf: Senior was medalist at the Palmetto Invitational. Cline shot an 11-under in the three-day tournament and won in a playoff over North Raleigh Christian’s CJ Peterson.
Campbell Denton, Camden baseball: The senior pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Darlington.
Jacob Hair, Swansea baseball: Sophomore was 8-of-10 with eight runs scored and seven RBI in three games last week.
Braydon Hallman, Batesburg-Leesville baseball: Sophomore was 1-0 on the mound and went 5-for-10 at the plate with a homer, four RBI and a triple.
Skiler Jackson, Lugoff-Elgin baseball: Senior went 1-0 on the mound, allowing one earned run in 5 1/3 innings while striking out eight. He was 4-for-5 at the plate with an RBI.
Landon Jeffcoat, Airport baseball: Sophomore hit. 571 with two doubles and six RBI last week.
Hunter Phipps, Dutch Fork baseball: Senior combined on a no-hitter in 6-0 win over White Knoll. Phipps struck out 15 in 6 « innings against the Timberwolves.
Rylan Woodard, Fairfield Central baseball: Senior pitched six innings, struck out five and had the go-ahead RBI single in 1-0 win over Newberry.
