Obituary of Kathleen “Kat” Hackworth

CASSATT- A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Kathleen Elizabeth “Kat” Hackworth, 51, will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Center.

    Kat passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 16, 2024. Born in West Bloomfield N.Y. she was a daughter of the late James Smith, Jr. and Geraldine Mott Smith, and adopted parents, “Papa Bobby” Cochran and Carolyn “NanaMama” Cochran. Kat enjoyed camping, taking care of her dog, “Halo,” going to the beach. Above all, Kat loved spending time with her family and friends.  

    Surviving are her children, Alexis Hackworth King (Fowler) of Bethune, Melanie Hackworth of Cassatt, Dalton Hackworth of Cassatt; and their father, Jason Hackworth; mother, Carolyn “NanaMama” Cochran; father, “Papa Bobby” Cochran; companion, Anthony Himes; and a bonus child, Tanasia Himes.
