Peter Michael Carroll, known as Pete, passed away on May 30, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 92. Born in Beacon, NY, he was the son of the late Michael Francis Carroll and Julia Kalisky Carroll. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Joyce Delahay Carroll, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren who will miss him greatly. His passing was eased by the help of Fr. Sandy McDonald of St. John Neumann Parish, and MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center.
Pete served in the Air Force’s 6147th Tactical Air Control Group (the Mosquitoes) during the Korean War. The bulk of Pete’s working years were spent with IBM in Fishkill, NY and Essex Junction, VT. In his spare time, Pete served the community through his involvement with the Hudson Valley (NY) Volunteer Firefighter Association and was a post Captain of Lewis Tompkins Hose Company on Beacon. After spending the majority of his life in New York and Vermont, he relocated to South Carolina so as to not have to shovel snow off the roof.
