Ronald Howes Obituary
A private family service for Ronald Vernon Howes, 81, of Goose Creek, SC, will be held graveside at Bethel Cemetery (Bethune, SC) on June 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM. Pastor Mike Ray will officiate.
Ron V. Howes passed peacefully on June 2, 2024 at Low Country Hospice Center in Summerville, SC. He was the son of Kenneth V. & Gladys J. Howes. Born October 6, 1942 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Ron grew up in Ashfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Sanderson Academy in 1960. Ron earned his B. S. degree in Public Relations with highest honors from Boston University in 1964. He was in the National Public Relations Honors Society at Boston University. He was on a marksman team at Boston University. He earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hartford in 1976.
He worked for Kendall from 1964-1988; Tambrands from 1988-1992; Engineered Nonwovens from 1993-1995; Kennco from 1996-2001; Crowfield Plantation HOA from 2001-2018.
Ron loved playing tennis, pickleball, watching professional tennis, Clemson football, UCONN basketball, traveling, and spending time with family. His advice was to be “Kind” and “Positive”.
On May 27, 1962, Ron married the love of his life, Marilyn Olivia Watts in Bethune, S.C. They were married for 62 years. He is survived by his wife and 2 children: Mark V. Howes (wife Maryann) of Perrineville, N.J., Pamela H. Rinker (husband James) of Goose Creek, S.C. 6 grandchildren: Skye E. Howes, Evan V. Howes, Joshua H. Rinker, Rachel L. Rinker, Sarah J. Reynolds (husband Bradley), Jacob H. Rinker. One great-granddaughter, Saylor G. Reynolds. Two nieces, Kim Beaudry (husband Rick) and Tina Crotty (her children, Christina and Dylan Vandoloski).
Ron was predeceased by his sister, Joy Ann Howes Crotty (husband Ed).
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for American Red Cross or Salvation Army.
