Sandra Williams Obituary

Sandra Margo Nolan Williams, widow of Robert Fletcher Williams, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the age of 85.

Born April 24, 1939 in Camden, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Elmer James Nolan and Dennie Smith Nolan Imbriaco.

A 1957 graduate of Camden High School, she attended the University of South Carolina, where she studied business. After college, she worked as a secretary in the MayPlant division of DuPont.  She worked in both the Medical and Purchasing offices. Later, she owned and operated the Merle Norman Cosmetics store in Camden until her retirement in 1990.

In her younger years, she was a member of the Camden Players theater group and a longtime member of the Camden Junior Welfare League.  Sandra was an excellent bridge player and member of several bridge clubs at one time. She earned Duplicate Bridge status.  She was also an avid reader and loved traveling the world with her family and close friends.

Sandra’s generosity, caring nature, and sense of humor will live on in the memories of her family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Ashley Williams Hudson (Murton J.) of Camden; grandchildren, Courtney Ericson Fratus (Nic) of Camden and Cameron Thomas Hudson of Columbia; and great-grandchildren, London Makall Fratus, Charlotte Elizabeth Fratus, and Fiona McLaurin Fratus, all of Camden.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at her daughter’s home in Camden on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM.    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
