Motorcyclist dies in crash on Interstate 20

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — An Elgin man died late Friday night in a motorcycle crash on Intersate 20.

Florence County Coroner J. Todd. Hardee identified the rider as Maurice Griffin, 54. Hew was the only person on the 2021 Harley-Davidson.

A South Carolina Highway Patrol spokesman said the crash happened when the river of the motocycle was “spilled” onto the westbound lane of the interstate, about three miles north of Lamar.
