Elgin – Funeral service for Virginia “Ginny” Geiger, 77, will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church on Hardscrabble Road, Columbia with burial to follow in the Old Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridgeway. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Geiger, wife of the late David Geiger, passed away at home on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Gertrude Martin Glenn. She worked for Townsend for over 20 years and ProPac Protective Packaging until her recent illness. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Columbia. She enjoyed playing games on her tablet, eating at Lizards Thicket, cooking and spending time with family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pamela Geiger of Blythewood, TaMara Geiger of Cayce and Jessica Geiger of Elgin; son, Corey Geiger (LaToya) of Columbia; brothers, Herbert Glenn (April), Eldred Glenn, Johnny “Mac” Glenn (Sheila), and Bernard Glenn; sisters, Thelma Glenn, Inez “Nel” Pannell (Franklin), Elaine Belton, and Dimito Bruno (Leo); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Eric Brown; best-friends, Betty McCoy, Vernice “Wee Wee” Mills; a brother-in-law, Steve Alston; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tracey Geiger Brown; brother, Eugene Martin; and sister, Mildred Glenn.
