BARNWELL 21, BAMBERG-EHRHARDT 7

Class AA No. 5 Barnwell improved to 3-0 to start the season with a 21-7 win over Class A No. 2 Bamberg-Ehrhardt.

Jaquan Peeples rushed for two touchdowns and Cameron Austin had one for the Warhorses, who outscored the Red Raiders 14-0 in the second half.

Next up for Barnwell is a home game Friday against South Aiken.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND 45, AIKEN 0

Hilton Head Island shut out Aiken on Friday, dropping the Hornets to 0-2 to begin the season.

Next up for Aiken is a road trip next Friday to Lugoff-Elgin.

LEXINGTON 25, MIDLAND VALLEY 14

Lexington outscored Midland Valley 19-0 in the second half Friday for a come-from-behind win to drop the Mustangs to 0-3.

Xavier Geter threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Montez McMillan, and Preston Smith had a short touchdown run as Midland Valley built a 14-6 halftime lead.

The Mustangs are off next week and begin Region 4-AAAA play Sept. 20 at sixth-ranked Gray Collegiate Academy.

FOX CREEK 44, GLENN HILLS 6

Fox Creek rolled to a big road win over Glenn Hills for the Predators’ first victory of the season.

Up next for Fox Creek (1-1) is a home game Friday against McCormick that will be the first football game played on campus in Predators’ history.

BLACKVILLE-HILDA 34, NINETY SIX 29

Class A No. 7 Blackville-Hilda picked up a big road win on Friday at Ninety Six to improve to 2-1.

The Fighting Hawks led 13-0 at the half, then held off a Wildcats rally to secure the win.

Up next for Blackville-Hilda (2-1) is a home game next Friday against Silver Bluff.

SWANSEA 39, WAGENER-SALLEY 15

Swansea outscored Wagener-Salley 21-0 in the second half, dropping the War Eagles to 1-2.

Wagener-Salley will be on the road again next Friday for a trip to Allendale-Fairfax.

WILLISTON-ELKO 38, CALHOUN FALLS 0

Williston-Elko picked up its second consecutive victory, moving to 2-1 with a shutout win over Calhoun Falls.

The Blue Devils will be on the road Thursday at Eau Claire.
