Obituary of Blaine Robert Keener

REMBERT-Blaine Robert Keener, 62, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Born in Ashabula, OH on December 18, 1962, he was the son of Rev. Alice Keener-Hocking and the late Rev. Richard Keener. Mr. Keener was a computer programming manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring in December of 2017. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Lugoff, SC where he sang in the Choir. He was also a member of the Bee Keeping Club, the Ham Radio Club, and the Toastmasters Club. Mr. Keener was a private airplane pilot and a 4th degree black belt in TaeKwonDo.

    Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 38 years, Susan Keener; children Erik Keener and Heidi Keener; his mother, Rev. Alice Keener-Hocking (Nelson), siblings, Terri Palmer (Jon) and Michelle Messer.

    A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 6:30 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The family will be receiving family and friends prior to the service from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the funeral home. The Rev. Angela Marshall will be officiating.
