Baseball

The Lancaster Bruins opened their Region 3-4A schedule with a 13-7 slug fest win over Dreher on March 11. The Bruins, despite making four errors, had 12 hits in the win. Four Bruins had multiple hits with Simeon Strother leading the way in going 3-4 at the plate. Parker McGee, Darius Jackson, and Spencer Sims each had two hits in the game. Lancaster improved to 1-4 on the season with the win.

The Buford Yellow Jackets improved to 4-1 on the season with a 9-0 shutout win over York Prep in opening Region 4-2A play on March 12. Jackson Sellers threw a one hitter in six innings of work while walking three and striking out 12. Gage McManus pitched a perfect inning without allowing a base runner and striking out two. Austin Catledge led at the plate going 2-3 with a home run and four RBIs.

The Andrew Jackson Volunteers fell 15-4 to West Florence on March 10. The Vols made seven errors in the game as the loss dropped them to 1-4 on the season. Andrew Jackson led 4-2 before a 11-run, fourth inning by West Florence.

Softball

The Indian Land Warriors dropped their first softball game falling to Marvin Ridge 3-2 on March 11 and is now 8-1 on the season. Marvin Ridge scored the winning run on their home field in the bottom of the seventh, despite the Warriors out hitting them. Taylor Marvin and Layla Crandall led Indian Land with two hits each.

Buford improved to 2-0 on the season with back-to-back wins this past week. Buford beat Parkwood 7-5 on March 11 and Clover 14-7 on March 12. Buford scattered 17 hits against Clover and were led by Ella Cate Plyler’s 3-5 performance with four RBIs. Hadley Johnson and Riley McManus each had three hits as well in the win. Johnson added three RBIs in the win for the Lady Jackets.

The Lancaster Bruins split games this past week by opening Region 3-4A play with a 10-0 win over Dreher as Cameryn Cauthen led at the plate going 3-3 with three RBIs. The Bruins fell to Legion Collegiate 8-2 in non-region action and are now 2-1 on the season.

Andrew Jackson fell to 2-1 on the season with a 6-5 loss to Lugoff-Elgin on March 12. The Lady Vols tried to rally in the seventh inning scoring three runs, but it wasn’t enough to pull off the comeback.

Soccer

The Andrew Jackson Lady Vols soccer team improved to 5-1 on the season with wins on three consecutive days. Andrew Jackson traveled to York and came away with a 3-0 win on March 10 with goals from Sara Jane, Alex Trimnal and Taylor Rice. The Lady Vols opened Region 4-2A play with a 6-0 win over North Central on March 11. Scoring for Andrew Jackson was Jane, Rice, Mary Flowers, Jazmyn Rivera, Colbie Sowell, and Gracie Blackmon. The Lady Vols ended the week with a 6-1 win over Lewisville on March 12. Julia Ardrey scored twice with other goals coming from Rice, Trimnal, Ava Hudspeth, and Creighan Sullivan.

The Andrew Jackson boy’s soccer team improves to 4-2 with a 3-0 win at North Central to open their region schedule.

The Buford Lady Jackets soccer team beat York 4-2 on March 11 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Kaylynn Faile scored all f our goals for Buford in the match.

The Buford boy’s soccer team dropped to 3-3 on the season after splitting games this past week. Buford beat Chester 9-0 on March 10 and fell to York on March 11 by a 2-1 score.

The Lancaster girl’s soccer team fell to 1-4 on the season with a 9-0 loss to AC Flora on March 11. They are now 1-1 in Region 3-4A.

The Lancaster boy’s soccer team lost 4-2 to AC Flora on March 11 as well and dropped to 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in the region.

The Indian Land boy’s soccer team beat Ridge View 5-1 on March 10 and was led by two goals from Coen Wilson. Camden Hannig, Manny Betancur, and Owen Newton each had a goal as well for the Warriors, who improved to 3-4 on the season.

The Indian Land Lady Warriors soccer team beat Independence 2-0 on March 10 and then tied with Bradford Prep 0-0 on March 12. They are 4-3-4 on the season.
