Obituary of Dieter Brand

LUGOFF- Dieter Brand, 82, passed away on March 26, 2025. Born in Oldenburg Germany, he was a son of the late Henry and Maria Rolfes Brand. Mr. Brand, husband of the late Irmgard Brand, retired from General Motors as a supervisor in the Tool and Die department. In his younger years he enjoyed playing soccer and grew to be a handyman who enjoyed tinkering and woodworking. He also enjoyed watching wrestling.

Surviving are his son, Ronald Brand of Hamilton, N.J.; daughter Renate “Renay” James of Lugoff; grandchildren, Robert Brand, Jeffrey Brand, Brandon Stephans, Jessica Stephans; great-grandchildren, Kevin Stephans, Andrea Agler; a sister, Diane Cressman (Thomas); and brothers, Werner Brand (Carole) and Manfred Litwinowicz. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Robert “Robbie” Brand.

Service for Mr. Brand will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
