Obituary of Bridget Motley Clarke

Elgin – A service to celebrate  the life of Bridget Motley Clarke, 51, will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Sandhill Heights Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Following the burial service the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Center.

Mrs. Clarke passed away at home on Monday, April 21, 2025.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Claude Barnett Motley and Helen Isabelle Kirkland Motley.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina.  She was employed with the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services where she was an Engineering Manager.  She enjoyed photography and crafts.  Mrs. Clarke was a member of Sandhill Heights Baptist Church and the WMU.

Surviving are her husband, Shawn McAleer Clarke; twin daughters, Isabella Jeanette Clarke of Columbia and McAyla Elizabeth Clarke of Fargo, N.D.; brother, Claude Motley, Jr. of Elgin; and sister, Robin Motley McLeod (Nelson) of Elgin.
