Obituary of Ida Mae Brown

ELGIN- A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ida Mae Brown, 97, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Elgin. The Rev. Stewart Kidd will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Methodist Church at PO Box 66, Elgin, S.C. 29045.

Mrs. Brown, wife of the late Delmar A. Brown, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Born in South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Dewey M. and Carrie Berley Brazell.  Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of Salem Methodist Church, Elgin. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and taking care of her cats.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Brown of Elgin; and nieces, Barbara Ipock of NC, Pamela Johnson and Pat Nelson both of Elgin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, D. Ronald Brown; brothers, Dewey Edward Brazell, Herman Attaway Brazell and a nephew, James E. “Jim” Brazell.
