Marie T. Small Obituary

Marie Tigue Small, passed away on November 17, 2025 in Green Cove Springs, Fla.,  leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her community. Born on January 13, 1937, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late T. Wier Davis and Dudley Cozby Davis.  Marie was a woman of many talents and a heart as vast as the ocean. 

Marie carved an illustrious career path for herself, proving to be an exemplary Office Manager in the Electric Supply business. She was a guiding light, a supportive pillar who not only managed the office but also uplifted the spirits of everyone around her. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to service. Marie was a valued member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Gideon’s Auxiliary. Her benevolent spirit shone through her former role as a member of the Board of Directors for the Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, and the State Partnership Board of Disabilities. 

Marie’s passion for nurturing and education was evident in her service at Camden First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and an adult class. She also served in the nursery, gently guiding young lives with her wisdom and care. She was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Ponte Vedra Beach Fl.

Surviving are her daughter, Emily Wiseman (Eddie) of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; step-sons, Wade J. Small III (Roonie) and Ned Oderra Small (Julie); brother, Thomas Dudley Davis; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.  She was predeceased by her husband, Wade Small; daughter, Caroline Annell Williams; and sister, Nancy Davis Greene.

Her memory will be honored at a graveside service at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, North Carolina, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon’s International or the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs.
