James Edward Hobbs Obituary

CAMDEN- A celebration of life service for James Edward Hobbs, 51, will be held Monday at 2:00 pm at Hermitage Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mr. Hobbs passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was a son of the late Edward Vance Hobbs and Wanda Gail Sloan Stroud. James was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church. James enjoyed going to community events, especially fall festivals, going to PCW wrestling matches, and traveling to Ocean Lakes Campground. He also would dress up as Santa and the Easter Bunny to bring joy to children. James was a fan of Live PD, and enjoyed interacting with the officers.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Deborah Nicole McGinnis Hobbs; children, Kristen Nichole Hobbs, Philip Edward Hobbs, Ashley Nicole Hobbs, Cassidy Elizabeth Hobbs; siblings, Jerry Vance Hobbs, Kenneth Edward Hobbs, Christopher Jonathan Ray Stroud, Susan Gail Cook, Margie Aline Cooper; and mother-in-law, Betty McGinnis.
