Ella L. Williams, 93, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Camden, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Ella will be deeply remembered for her kindness, generosity, and creative spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Born on February 26, 1932, in Camden, South Carolina, Ella was a daughter of the late Elliott Brevard, Sr. and Louise Robinson Brevard. She spent her formative years in Camden before moving north and finally settling in Norwalk, Connecticut where she dedicated herself to her family, her work as a Postal Clerk for the US Postal Service, and her community. Ella was a faithful and active member of Bethel A.M.E Church and a member and Past Matron of Deborah Chapter #21, Order of the Eastern Stars, P.H.A. She later returned home to Camden, where she continued as a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life, and she cherished the fellowship and friends formed through church, especially within the senior’s group to which she was deeply committed. The group met on a monthly basis to do crafts, take trips, and have speaking guests which she always remembered and treasured.

A woman of quiet strength and enduring compassion, Ella built a life around service, family, and creativity. She gave freely of her talents through her love of sewing, crocheting, and other crafts—gifts that she often shared with friends, family, and members of the community. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome. She enjoyed entertaining, bringing people together over food, laughter, and conversation. She also delighted in playing Bingo and Pokeno. Above all, Ella had a kind and generous heart, always ready to help in any way she could.

Ella is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Gaither (James) of Plano, TX; her grandson, James W. Gaither (Sarah) of Lewisville, TX; her sister, Daisy Caulley of Camden, SC; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Monroe and Ida Moses of Norwalk, CT and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James H. Williams; her sister, Hattie M. Poole; her brother, Elliott Brevard, Jr. and her parents Elliott and Louise Brevard.
