We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Virginia Joan Kirkland “Snooks” Langley. The beloved matriarch of our family, known for her boundless energy and unwavering faith, Virginia was born on September 10, 1936, in Blaney, South Carolina. Her life was a testament to the power of love, community, and dedication. 

Virginia was a steadfast pillar of the Lugoff First Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing her strength and perseverance during challenging times. Virginia took immense pride in her yardwork and could always be seen outside being busy.  She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Heyward W. Langley, Jr.; son, Danny F. Kirkland (Beth) of Lugoff; daughter, Beverly Kirkland of Lugoff; step-son, Hal Langley (Cindy); granddaughter, Casey Collier (Craig) of Lugoff; great-grandchildren, Hannah Collier Sassard (Ryan), and Ty Collier; great-great-granddaughter, Adalie Sassard; brother, Marion J. Dixon (Wanda); sister, Jackie Johnson (Harold); and sister-in-law, Pat Dixon. She is preceded in death by her parents, D.C. Dixon and Inez Ross Dixon;  brothers, Davis R. Dixon, Carlee Dixon, Bill Dixon, and Sam Dixon; and sister, Ollie Kirkland

A service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078, with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be made to Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery.
