According to the United States Census recorded on May 3, 1930, Walter L Miles (41) owned a home in Wateree Township, Kershaw, South Carolina with his wife, Lillie E Miles (30). It was reported that they were married when he was 30 and she was 16. Also in the home was their children; Mildred E Miles (9), Oliver L Miles (6) Dorthy Miles (4) and Emmie D Miles (2); his mother; Nancy E Miles (69); and his niece, Margarite E Owens (13). It was reported that all family members were born in South Carolina. Walter L Miles was a farmer on a general farmer.
1940 Census Information:
According to the United States Census recorded on April 12, 1940, W L Miles (51) owned a home in Wateree Township, Kershaw, South Carolina with his wife, Lillie E Miles (40) and their children; Mildred Miles (19), Oliver L Miles (16), Doris Miles (14), Emma Dora Miles (13), Fay Miles (9), Betty Miles (7), and William Preston Miles (1), and his brother-in-law, Owens Poynor Miles (28). It was reported that all family members were born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. W L Miles was an operator of a farm.
1940
On June 16, 1940, Charles William Branham (21) and Mildred Miles (19) were married in Kershaw County, South Carolina.



1952
On January 3, 1952, Randy Branham the infant son, who was born on December 30, 1951 died at the Camden Hospital due to Pulmonary Atelectasis (collapsed lung). He was buried in the Springvale Baptist Church in Lugoff on January 4, 1952.

Mildred M. Branham of Columbia died Sunday, January 11, 2015. She was 94. Born in Blaney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Leon Miles and Lillie Owens Miles. A graduate of Blaney High School and Anderson College, Mrs. Branham was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are her three children, Charles W. Branham, Jr., Wilma B. Nye, and Jean B. Shipman; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Doris Fulmer of Elgin, SC, Mrs. Betty Poole of Elgin, SC, and Mrs. Gloria Squires of Camden, SC.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church, 91 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29229.
