On September 1, 1961, E. L. Sessions was listed in the newspaper article “First Kershaw Cotton of 1961 Ginned Friday.“
1964
On January 1, 1964, Edwin Session was listed as a honorary pallbearer in the obituary of Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Branham.
1977
ELGIN – Funeral services for Edwin L “Shorty” Sessions were held today at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial was in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr Session, 59, a retail merchant, farmer and lumberman, died Sunday, July 3, 1977.
He was born May 16, 1918 in Blaney (now Elgin), a son of the late Thomas Grigsby Sessions and Sarah Easler Sessions. He was a member of the Kershaw County Election Commission and a former Kershaw County Councilman, serving eight years.
Mr. Session was a charter member of the Elgin Lions Club, Member of the Lugoff Optimist Club and the Greater Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Inez Branham Sessions, a daughter, Mrs. Pete James of Elgin, a sister, Mr. Edward L . Taylor of Ballentine, a brother, Clyde Session of Columbia, and three granddaughters.
