Harry Daniel Kirkland, 40, died yesterday afternoon, August 6, 1939, at the home of his sister, Mrs. B. A. Aaron, 1826 Marion street, after an illness of ten weeks.
Mr. Kirkland had made his home with his sister since 1928. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. J. L. Kirkland of Cayce; five sisters, Mrs. B. A. Aaron of Columbia; Mrs. Anne Gully of Raleigh, N. C., Mrs. Jessie Huckabee, Mrs. Irene Lybrand and Miss Mattie Lee Kirkland, all of Cayce; three brothers, John Kirkland of Blaney and Edward Kirkland and Joe Kirkland of Cayce.
Funeral Services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock from the graveside in the Baptist Cemetery near Blaney by the Rev. Brennon Jeffcoat, pastor of Union Baptist church. The funeral party will leave the Thompson Funeral home at 9:45 a.m.
Pallbearers will be; active, L. A. Cotter, Harry Cotter, E. C. Smith, Robert Powell, J. W. Dunning, Jr., and Pat Nelson; honorary, Dr. O. B. Mayer, Dr. C. Frank Owens. G. F. Gibson, Leroy Brazell, S. L. Branham, W. F. Phillips, H. E. Gordon and Charles Newman.
