Let the people decide presidential election

I would like to see the way we pick our president change. Instead of about five states deciding who our next president will be, how about each state having one electoral vote and the candidate who receives the most votes from that state would get that state’s electoral vote? The candidate carrying the most states would be the winner. That way, everyone’s vote would truly count.

I know the mainstream media won’t like this idea because it will keep them from an early projection call. But it would be great for TV ratings, because maybe more people would tune in and see who the winner is. Let the people decide.
