Ridgewood Camp Patients Enjoy Ice Cream Treat

Ridgewood Camp. Aug. 20. – Ice cream for Monday night’s supper at the sanatorium was sent to the patients and staff by H. H. Hinnant of Columbia.

Miss Ada Barfield, dietician, returned Monday night from her former home in Kerhsaw, where she spent the weekend with relatives.

J. C. Joyner of Columbia was dismissed Sunday and returned home.

Mrs. Gertrude Miller had as guests recently Mr. and Mrs. Purse A. Miller, Purse A. Miller, Jr., and Thomas Norwood Miller of Savannah, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers Miller of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Edward Miller, Sr., of Blythewood.

E. H. Rutland’s company last week were: Mrs. E. H. Ruthland and Henry Melton of Blytewood. E. H. Rutland, Jr. of the CCC camp at Winnsboro and Henry Arrowood of Blackshear, Ga.

Mrs. O. T. McDade was visited by Mrs. F. H. Odell and Miss Hazel McDade of Union and Miss Willie McDade, O. T. McDade, Jr., and Lewis McDade of Lockhart.

Curtis WEssinger’s guests were Mrs. Annie Senn of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Crout and Miss Annie Mae Crout of Killian.

Miss Marie Poyas had as company Mr. and Mrs. Fred V. Phipps, Fred V. Phipps, Jr., and Dannie Phipps, Poyas Phipps of Columbia.

Mrs. G. W. Garrison was visited by C. H. Bickley of Chapin and Miss Cleo Slice, Mrs. Bernice Smyrl, Miss Doris Bolin, Miss Anne Smyrl and O’Neale Smyrl of Columbia.

Mrs. Sue Porter’s guest were J. M. Porter, Miss Marian Sue Porter and Arnold Porter of Blaney.

Barney Langley had as company Mrs. Jennie Shealy of Lexington and Miss Ruby Langley, Miss Blanche Thomas and Reuben McLaurin of Columbia.

G. R. Beckham of Richland county was a camp visitor Tuesday.

Mrs. J. A. Judy had guests last week Miss Aleene Judy, Johnnie Albert Judy, Elmer Lee Judy, Edward Judy, J. A. Judy, Colie Lanigan and John Koogler, Jr., of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Judy and children of St. George.

Miss Nanie Greene’s company were: Miss Lois Scott of Camden. Mrs. W. P. Meetze of Columbia and Miss Mary Love and Miss Betty Love of Ridgewood.

Mrs. L. G. Jenkins was visited by Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Richardson. Mrs. Ruth Hutto, Miss Caroline Hutto, Bobbie Hutto, Miss Lillian Hamiter, Mrs. Lillian Sligh and L. G. Jenkins of Columbia and Miss Marie Fellows of Newberry.

Miss Elizabeth Hardy’s guests were: Miss Laura Gulick, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hardy, Sr., and A. Hardy, Jr. of Columbia.
