Somewhere in the South Pacific – (Special) – Ernest C. Kelly, marine from Blaney, South Carolina, has been promoted here to platoon sergeant from sergeant.

Platoon Sergeant Kelly attended Dentsville High School and later worked for the South Carolina State Highway Department before he enlisted in the Marines in August, 1940.

His mother, Mrs. Bertha Kelly, lives in Blaney. He has two brothers also serving in the Marines.
