Miss Marjorie Elliot of Winnsboro, a graduate of this institution, was a visitor at the college Friday morning. Her many friends will be interested in learning that Miss Elliot has accepted a responsible secretarial position in Washington DC, in the headquarters of the national geographics society, which in addition to publishing the National Geographic magazine does research work in Barry’s fields under establish foundations. Miss Elliot reports for work on October 6.
Miss Duise Derrick of Little Mountain, a former student, was a caller at the college Saturday morning. Mr. Derrick is now employed with the farm loan division of a well-known insurance company.
Mrs. W. R. Comer of the night school has accepted a position with the government at the station hospital at Fort Jackson.
Miss Prince Johnson of Marion has been doing special secretarial work for one of the bonded storage companies in Columbia.
Miss Mary Edwards of Marion left school during the week to do special work with one of the principal building companies in the city.
Miss Maxine Hodge of Alcolu will not be back in school as she has accepted a position with the state teachers association, her duties beginning September 29.
Miss Mildred Garrett of Russellville was called during the week for special work with one of the tire companies in the city.
Miss Reba Miley and Miss Willie Kate Harrison are spending the weekend at their respective homes in Brunson.
Miss Gertrude Bailey is spending the weekend at her home in Ridge Springs with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey.
Misses Velma Watson and Mary Ellen Hall are spending the weekend at the respective homes in Batesburg.
