Camden, Sept. 1 – (Special) – Herman L. Nickens, 45, died at the Camden hospital this afternoon after an extended illness.
He had been employed in the spinning department of the Wateree Cotton mill for the past 26 years.
Born in Huntsville, Ala., he was the son of the late Andrew Nickens and Nancy Gray Nickens.
Funeral services will be held from the Union Baptist Church at Blaney at 4 o’clock Monday afternoon by Dr. A. S. Lockee and the Rev. G. R. Partridge. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katie Irvin Nickens of Camden, and his mother, Mrs. Nancy Nickens of Camden.
The funeral cortege will leave from the late residence, 1710 Lakeshore drive.
