Last rites for Mrs. Katie M. Davis, 53, wife of David Sam Davis of RFD 2, Blaney, who died last night, September 26, 1950 at 9 o’clock at the Baptist hospital after several days’ illness, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Spears Creek Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. A. L. Woods. Interment will be in the churchyard.

Active pallbearers will be Brown Ross, Heyward Koon, Howell Ross, Curtis Jacobs, Claude Tucker and Lonnie Peake.

Honorary pallbearers will be G. P. Monroe, A. L. Jacobs, Sr., T. G. Wilson, C. J. Jacobs, G. T. Jacobs, R. W. Ellisor, R. V. Tucker, Colie Motley, Herbert Baughman, Otto Jacobs, Christie Brown, Melvin Medlin, Fred Martin, Dewey Martin and Lonnie Nelson.

Mrs. Davis was a lifelong residents of the Blaney vicinity. She was a member of the Spears Creek Baptist church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R. R. Tucker, Mrs. Arthur T. Lee and Miss Mary Ellen Davis, all of Blaney; three sons, John A Davis of Fort Jackson, William V. Davis and Charles B. Davis, both of Blaney; a sister, Mrs. J. C. Crawley of Chester; four brothers, James Allen Sanders, Calvin C. Sanders and Bayon C. Sanders, all of Columbia, and Joseph Abraham Sanders of Blaney; a half-brother, Ernest C. Sanders of Blaney, and 11 grandchildren.

On September 28, 1950, Mrs. Katie M. Davis was listed in the newspaper article “Deaths.”
