Walter Ashby Rhame, II, 79, of Rembert, SC, died Sunday, September 13, 2020. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Quaker Cemetery. The service will be conducted by American Legion Post 17.

Born in Moncks Corner, SC, Ashby was the son of the late Walter A. Rhame and Vernell Wanamaker Rhame. He was a retired Major in the US Army, having worked in military intelligence. Ashby was a member of American Legion Post 17 and had served as a Post Commander.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Osborne Rhame; children, Walter A. Rhame, III of Savannah, GA and Robert W. Rhame (Silke) of Munich, Germany; step-children, Marcya Grudzina (Grant) of Dubuque, IA and Michael Happ (Leah) of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 17, PO Box 456, Camden, SC 29021.
