Lillie Moore Motley was born February 28, 1882 in Kershaw County, the daughter of Abe Moore and Ella Thornton Moore.

Mrs. Lillie Moore Motley, died early this morning, September 2, 1959, in the Baptist Hospital.

She was born in Kershaw County, the daughter of the late Abe Moore and Ella Thornton Moore. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband J. B. Motley; three daughters, Mrs. May Finley, Mrs. E. Garnes and Mrs. Elizabeth Hood, all of Columbia; a son, Porter Motley, Blaney, two sisters, Mrs. Leila Sanders and Miss Lucy Motley both of Columbia; and five half brothers, Heyward Lovett, Herbert Lovett, Rufus Lovett, Dalton Lovett, all of Columbia and Ed Lovett, Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 5 o’clock in Union Baptist Church conducted by the Rev George Partridge. Internet will be in the church yard.

Active pallbearers will be Claude Motley, Harold Motley, Sammy Motley, Olin Motley, Briton Motley, and Franklyn Motley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Bookman, Donald Watson, Boykin Rose, Glenn Dowey, Arthur Hines, Woodrow Ross, L. W. Conder, Alton Nelson, Geroge Ross, Earl Stockman, T. H. Thornton, George Watts, Otis Goff, J. A. Riley Sr. and Ike Jacobs.

Paschal Funeral Home is in charge.

On September 3, 1959, Mrs. J. B. Motley was listed in the newspaper article “Deaths.”
