Blaney Folk See Students In Play

Blaney, Nov. 18. – To an almost capacity audience the 11th grade of the Blaney high school presented “That’s ONe on Bill,” a three act comedy on marriage, in the auditorium of the school building tonight.

The outstanding actors were Miss Edna Shell as Patricia Niles, Rember Sanders as Battling Bennie Rozo, and Edward Maddox as Bill Hailey. Other actors were Fred Miles as Uncle Jimmie, Lever Motley at Harry Dover, Allen Edens as Ned (Puffy) Collins, Miss Mildred Evans as Lil Hailey, Miss Sarah Jane Dinkins as Mab Allen, Miss Lelye Rose as Mrs. Hailey and Miss Josephine Thoraton as Rosie, the maid.

Miss Janie Barfield acted as state manager, Miss Kate Branham as properties manager, Miss Mabelle Branham as costumer and Miss Clelye Rose as prompter. The play was under the direction of Miss Virginia Doar, teacher of English and French.

A number of vocal numbers were rendered during the intermissions by Miss Susie Shannon, a member of the faculty at the Blaney school. Almost 260 people were present at the performance last night and the actors were enthusiastically applauded.

The proceeds of the play will be used for the purchase of the class gift to the the school in June, 1928. The gift will be in the form of a stage curtains for the auditorium.
