The name of the Fairfield Baptist Association has been changed to Columbia Metro Baptist Association.

The newly elected moderator is the Rev. James Salter, who has served as pastor of the Blaney Baptist Church for the past three years.

He is a graduate from the University of South Carolina and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
