J. E. ABBOTT, BLANEY, DIES

J. E. Abbott of Blaney died at the Baptist hospital Thursday morning. He had been admitted to the hospital August 28.

Funeral services will be conducted at Harmony Baptist church near Blaney, Friday afternoon, at 4 o’clock by his pastor, the Rev. A. L. Willis.

Mr. Blaney was born in Kershaw September 18, 1874, the son of Percy Abbott and Sallie Elkins Abbott. He had farmed near Blaney several years.

Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Sallie Branham, two brothers, John R. Abbott, Blaney, and Melton Abbott, Dentsville, one sister Mrs. Robert Branham.

Pallbearers will be: active, D. W. Atkinson, J. E. Butler, G. C. Wilson, Paul Ross, J. B. Hines, W. E. McCreary; honorary, E. J. Wilson, B. C. Thomas, J. D. Railey, E. T. Bowen, Dr. W. D. Griegsby and Dr. J. F. Dobson.

Funeral services for J. E. Abbott of Blaney were to be conducted at Harmony Baptist church near Blaney, Friday afternoon, at 4 o’clock by his pastor, the Rev. A. L. Willis.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Sallie Branham; two brothers, John R. Abbott, Blaney, and Melton Abbott, of Dentsville; and one sister Mrs. Robert Branham of Blaney.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Fannie Branham; two brothers, John R. Abbott of Blaney, and Melton Abbott of Dentsville; one sister Mrs. Rupert Branham of Blaney, and one half-sister, Mrs. James Sharp of Columbia, and his step-mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Abbott of Columbia.
