ELGIN – Samuel Earl Stockman, 76, died Wednesday, October 2, 1985.
Born in Kershaw County, he attended the county schools.
A retired farmer and cattleman, Mr. Stockman was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Lizzie J. Stockman of Elgin; sons, Samuel Leon Stockman of Lugoff and Robert Donald Stockman of Elgin; daughters, Mrs. Ross Boulware (Novice Boulware) and Mrs. William Miles (Shirley Ann Miles) of Elgin and Mrs. C. Ray Miles (Shelby Jean Miles) of Lugoff; a sister, Mrs. J. D. Dowey (Eunice Dowey) of Columbia; brothers, J. P. Stockman of Columbia; Clinton Stockman, William Stockman, and John L. Stockman of Elgin; a stepson, Edmond Johnson of Columbia; stepdaughters, Mrs. Bennie Rawls (Marie Rawls) of Aiken and Mrs. Michael Birch (Frances Birch) of Columbia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and step grandchildren.
He was married to Mary Dowey Stockman who died in 1956 and Veola Branham Stockman who died in 1976.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge.
