ELGIN – Funeral service for Andrea H. Brown, 81, will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. Memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Adult Sunday School Class.
Mr. Brown died Monday, November 21, 2011. Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Howell A. Brown and Mamie Jeffers Brown. He served in the United States Navy and retired from DuPont where he was the Paymaster. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was the former choir director. He was an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Peggy Stockman Brown; son, Phillip A. Brown; daughter, Shirrese Brown “Sherry” Brockington (Joseph) of Charleston; stepsons, James Moak and Dennis Moak; sister, Lee Goff of El-gin; granddaughter, Ashley Gordon Brockington; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers, Wayne Brown and Delmar Brown.
