Sumter, Dec. 14. – Two thousand jammed Emmanuel M. E. church to hearl L. H. King, editor, reputed to be the most eloquent pulpit orator of the Methodists, L. M. Dunton, President emeritus of Claflin college, Orangeburg, presided at this morning service. Memorial services where held in the afternoon for deceased ministers. The Rev. W. S. Thompson preached.
