1930 Census Information:
According to the United States Census reported on April 9, 1930, D Ennis Miles (44), rented a home in Arden, Richland, South Carolina, with his wife, Annie T Miles (38). It was reported that he was first married when he was 31, and she was first married when she was 25. Also in the home was their children; V May Miles (12), Daisy I Miles (10), Jessie E Miles (6), D Ennis Miles Jr. (5) and Mary L. Miles (2). All family members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Ennis was a salesman of furniture.
1935
Doctor Ennis Miles, 50, died at his home 4707 Main Street, Monday night, December 30, 1935 at 9:25 after an illness of five years.
Funeral Service will be conducted from Eau Claire Baptist church at 11 o’clock Wednesday Morning, January 1, 1936, by the pastor, the Rev. J. L. Willis. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist churchyard near Blaney.
Mr. Miles was born in Kershaw county and had lived in Columbia a number of years. He was a member of years. He was a member of Eau Claire Baptist church and was active in church work until the time of his illness.
Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Annie Parker: three daughters, Miss Daisy Miles, Miss Mae Miles and Miss Jessie Miles; one son, D. E. Miles, Jr.; two sister, Mrs. W. D. Braziel and Mrs. P. E. Miles, Blaney; six brothers, J. V. Miles, G. W. Miles, Lugoff, F. L. Miles, W. E. Miles, A. D. Miles and L. M. Miles.
