CAMDEN
The Kershaw County School Board will ask for hours on March 8 whether the district should issue $27.5 million in bonds to pay for school improvements.
The board passed a resolution authorizing the referendum and set the date Monday night.
If approved, the bond would allow the district to make improvements and classroom additions at all district schools except the new Blaney Elementary School and the county vocational center. A recent facility studied cited no needs for those two schools.
The study also calls for consolidating Bethune and Camden high school students and a $14.3 million new building.
