Minnie Iola “Teenie” Brunson Spivey

ELGIN – Funeral services for Iola “Teenie” Brunson Spivey, 64, will be held on Thursday, December 29, 3005, at 11 a.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Earl J. Spivey, Rev. Lawrence Dennis and Rev. Ron Farrar will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the home of Doris and Doug Nelson, 16 N. Cantey St., Summerton, S.C. Memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, 1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, SC 29045 or to a charity of one’s choice. Kornegay Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mrs. Spivey, widow of Robert Howell Spivey, died Sunday, December 25, 2005. Born in Davis Station, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Brunson and Ruby “Grace” Brown Brunson. Mrs. Spivey was a member of Blaney Baptist Church, the Care Sunday School Class, the Elgin 39ers Senior Group and the Lugoff Elgin American Legion Auxiliary Post 195.

Surviving are a brother, Bobby C. Brunson of Vance; sister, Doris Brunson Nelson of Summerton; a son; four stepsons; one stepdaughter; seven stepgrandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Vivian Iola Jones, and a brother, Jack Lee Brunson.
