Thomas Bobby Jeffers was born February 15, 1930 in Blaney, South Carolina, son of Elmore Joel Jeffers and Carrie “Cara” Neeley Jeffers.

1940 Census Information:

According to United States census reported on May 7, 1940, Elmore Jeffers (44), owned a home in Wateree Township, Kershaw County, South Carolina, with his wife, Carrie Belle Jeffers (44), and their children; James Jeffers (20) and Bobbie Jeffers (10). All family members were born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Elmore Jeffers was a farm operator on a farm and James Jeffers was a helper on the farm.

1950

On December 23, 1950, Thomas Robert Jeffers (20) and Ruby Moak (18) were married in Kershaw County, South Carolina.

On December 10, 1951, Cpl. Thomas B. Jeffers was listed as the father in the obituary of Donald Gene Jeffers.

2010

On February 15, 2010, Bobby Jeffers was mentioned as a living brother in the obituary of Lessie J. Goff.

ELGIN – Funeral services for Thomas Bobby Jeffers, 80, will be held Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p. m. at Powers Funeral Home.

Mr. Jeffers died Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Elmore Jeffers and Cara Neeley Jeffers. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Martha “Ruby” Jeffers; sons, Jerry T. Jeffers, Andy Elmore Jeffers, and Steven Oneal Jeffers; daughter, Holli June Knight; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sons, Donald Christopher Jeffers, Kayle Ronald Jeffers, Bobby Ray Jeffers, Leslie Christopher Jeffers; brothers, Dave Jeffers, Howell Jeffers, and James Jeffers; and sister, Lessie Goff.
