Entertained at Dinner at School Building Friday Evening.
Members of the Blaney chapter of the Future Farmers of America entertained their fathers at a dinner in the Blaney high school building Friday night, March 29. The banquet was served by Miss Jean Reid, home economic teacher, and the girls of her department.
Edward Braziel, president of the chapter, presided. The welcoming address was made by Edward Braziel and the F. F. A. creed was given by Clifford Baucom. Richard Poole explained the program of work for the year. The Future Farmer exchange was explained by Vernon Nettle, R. S. Poole, father of Richard Poole, gave a response on behalf of the guests in appreciation of the work done by the boys.
Among the guests who made short talks after the dinner were: Mrs. Kathleen B. Watts, Kershaw county superintendent of education; Verd Peterson, state supervisor of agricultural education; W. D. Grigsby and D. G. McLeod, members of the Blaney school board of trustees, and C. A. Byrd, superintendent of schools. James Price explained the operation of the pig and cow chain.
